Rumours of Real Madrid looking to bolster their wing-back positions with the signings of Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies and Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold have been a major talking point for months.

Over the course of the last six months, both stars have been all but signed and had the deal declared off, sometimes with the story changing on a weekly basis.

It is now looking like we are getting closer to the answers that we crave. With the possibility of pre-contract agreements for both stars beginning in January, this could be a crucial month for Real’s transfer dealings.

As per Cadena SER, Trent Alexander-Arnold is the more likely of the two deals, with the move for Davies being described as 50/50.

Right now, the ball is in the court of the two players’ current clubs, as they still have 20 days to get a contract offer on the table and get it signed.

Real Madrid also have more pressing issues at hand, as they currently face a trip to Bergamo to take on Atalanta, with qualification to the knockout stages of the Champions League hanging in the balance.
