Javier Hernandez expressed his frustration after LA Galaxy's 3-1 home defeat to the Colorado Rapids, claiming his teammates must show up to press conference as oppose to showing a lack of accountability from the locker room.
The LA Galaxy have experienced their worst ever start to an MLS season, collecting just six points after 10 games played to reach just 13th place in the Western Conference standings. This is an unprecedented rock bottom for the five-time MLS Cup champions.
The poor start to the season has drawn a lot of attention towards the Galaxy players and coaching staff. After LA Galaxy games, Chicharito is always ready to face the press, regardless of the result. However, he maintains the same cannot be said for his teammates.
"We need so many things to change starting from, I believe that more people need to come [speak to the media] to face things,” he said. “We’re the same people speaking, always. That’s a thing that needs to change too, you know? We always speak in here, the same guys. So I think that should change in the beginning, and then on the training ground other stuff needs to change."
Chicharito agrees with the discontent of Galaxy supporters and urges his teammates to fight for the historic club that they play for:
"We’re LA Galaxy, man. When I say we need to behave and understand that – they’re giving you the chance to be the greatest,” he asserted. “You’re in the greatest [expletive] organization in the USA. At the least, you give everything. And if teams are better than us, I can take that, I can take those losses. I can take that."
The LA Galaxy and Chicharito will aim to turn their sinking ship of a season around as they're only six points from a playoff spot.
