Jerome Roussillon will leave VfL Wolfsburg this summer at the latest, according to Kicker. The defender arrived in Wolfsburg in 2018 when he signed from French side Montpellier.
In his debut season with the wolves, Roussillon was outstanding and was a regular in the left-back position. This continued for a couple of seasons until recently. The now 29-year-old has struggled for playing time this season. In the opening ten matchdays this season, the defender wasn’t even in the squad. In recent weeks he has featured slightly making four appearances.
Roussillon’s contract is due to expire in the summer of 2023 and there is certainly no sign of him being offered an extension. Should the defender wish to leave this winter and force an earlier exit from Wolfsburg, the club will not stand in his way.
It’s unsure where Roussillon’s next move will be. With plenty of Bundesliga and Ligue 1 experience, he should be able to find an appropriate club sooner rather than later.
