Whilst the vast majority of Championship action is on pause for the FA Cup fourth round this weekend, Hull City take on QPR in the second tier.

It should be a competitive match given that the two sides are placed just three slots apart in the division, with QPR 13th and Hull 16th ahead of the weekend.

QPR’s recent form will be a concern for boss Neil Critchley, though, with his side having gone five matches without registering a win following last weekend’s draw versus Swansea.

With that being said, Critchley’s team selection for the clash this weekend could be crucial if the R’s want to end their poor run and take all three points.

With that in mind, here at FLW, we thought we’d try and predict the starting XI Critchley may select on Saturday afternoon.

Lining up in a very familiar 4-2-3-1 shape, this is the XI we think Critchley could possibly go with.

In this XI, Seny Dieng remains the choice in between the sticks, with a back four in front of him that consists of Kenneth Paal, Jimmy Dunne, Rob Dickie and Ethan Laird, from left to right.

Meanwhile, in midfield, Sam Field is likely to start, whilst he could be lined up alongside Stefan Johansen, who must be very close to a start and a return from injury after getting 60 minutes of under-21 action under his belt this week.

Ahead of that duo, Ilias Chair could be selected in an advanced central role, with Chris Willock to his left, and Tyler Roberts to his right.

With transfer speculation surrounding the forward, Critchley could opt to leave Lyndon Dykes out of this one, instead opting for January addition Jamal Lowe up front.

Tim Iroegbunam and Dykes will feel hard done by if indeed they do both miss out, but with QPR winless in five and Johansen returning, Critchley could switch things up.
