Blackpool hitman Jordan Rhodes is joining Mansfield Town despite interest from Barnsley, Stockport County and Wigan Athletic, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

Rhodes is expected to complete a move on deadline day as he looks to get his career back on track.

The experienced marksman has been a bit part players at Blackpool this term, with the majority of his League One outings coming from the bench.

He has had four clubs to choose from for his next destination, with Mansfield, Barnsley, Wigan and Stockport all wanting him.

Now Rhodes has decided it is Nigel Clough’s Mansfield he wants to join.

Key to his decision is game time as the striker is confident he can play as much as possible with the Stags.

Amid his lack of minutes on the pitch, Rhodes has not hit the back of the net in League One yet this season.

He will want to change that quickly in the coming weeks with Mansfield.
