Atlético de Madrid kicked off Wednesday's Champions League round of games and Julián Alvarez was in the thick of it again.
The Argentine extended his impressive streak in the competition against Slovan Bratislava by racking up a 16th goal involvement from his last 23 appearances.
He opened the scoring with a stunning curled strike in the 16th minute for a fourth goal in six outings on Europe's elite stage.
Alvarez headed into the clash at the Civitas Metropolitano looking to rival former Manchester City teammate Erling Haaland with his goal or assist ratio average.
Only Haaland's return of a goal involvement every 69 minutes stands above the 24-year-old's return of one every 74 minutes.
That gap is getting closer after Alvarez's latest contribution for the Colchoneros.
