Juventus defender Luca Pellegrini is set for a move away with OGC Nice optimistic about his signing (via RMC Sport).
After spending the last season on loan at Lazio, Pellegrini has returned to Allianz Stadium this summer.
The Biancocelesti had been in talks to tie the full-back to a permanent deal, but Nice have overtaken them in the transfer race.
The Ligue 1 outfit are reportedly making good progress in the negotiations and hope to reach an agreement with Juventus.
Les Aiglons reportedly proposed an initial offer for Pellegrini with an obligation to buy him for around €9 million.
The 24-year-old has struggled for a regular role in the first team after joining Juve in 2019, spending loan spells at Cagliari, Genoa and Eintracht Frankfurt.
Pellegrini is not in Massimiliano Allegri’s plans despite the shortfall in options at the left-back position.
Brazilian left-back Alex Sandro looks certain to leave Turin this season, which may prompt the Old Lady to invest in a full-back in the transfer window.
Sandro is one of several players who could be part of a clearout, with Juve planning a major overhaul this summer.
Nice have suddenly become active in the transfer window after a period of lull.
The owners INEOS Group has been under scrutiny for the lack of signings, but they have made up for the lost time with a handful of deals in a quick period of time.
They recently announced the signing of Morgan Sanson on loan from Aston Villa and have struck an agreement worth €18 million for Atalanta forward Jeremie Boga.
