Juventus Push for £63m Striker but Man Utd Remain Strong Contenders

Victor Osimhen has never been one to go unnoticed. Even amid the political theatre that often surrounds modern transfers, his record speaks louder than rumour. Now, with Juventus and Manchester United vying for his signature, the Nigerian forward is once again centre stage in what promises to be one of the defining sagas of the summer.
According to TEAMtalk, Juventus are “pushing harder than ever” to sign Osimhen, having identified the striker as their number one priority during the recent international break. With Randal Kolo Muani unlikely to return from PSG and uncertainty surrounding Dusan Vlahovic’s future, the Turin giants are planning a rebuild — and they view Osimhen as the cornerstone.
TEAMtalk reports: “Juventus holds concrete interest in Osimhen and sources state that they are ‘pushing harder than ever’ to seal a summer transfer.”

The challenge for Juventus will be navigating Napoli’s valuation. While Osimhen’s €75m release clause offers clarity to foreign clubs, it “only applies to clubs outside of Italy,” potentially making internal negotiations more complex. Still, Juventus believe their close ties with the player’s agent could tilt the balance in their favour.
Manchester United, meanwhile, are watching closely. The Premier League remains Osimhen’s preferred destination, and United’s need for a reliable, prolific No 9 is glaring.
“Man Utd are the most interested club in the Premier League, with Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee both potentially leaving this summer,” TEAMtalk revealed. In this context, Osimhen is more than a target — he’s the centrepiece of a proposed attacking overhaul.
With 28 goals in 32 games for Galatasaray this season, Osimhen has made his point. Physically dominant, tactically aware, and with an eye for goal that rarely falters, he offers a blend of qualities United have sorely lacked.
Yet, financial realities remain. United are under pressure from PSR constraints and “may need to sell players before they are able to match Osimhen’s clause,” as TEAMtalk notes. It’s a familiar balancing act — ambition versus sustainability.

Chelsea were previously considered front-runners for Osimhen’s services, but their interest has since cooled. TEAMtalk reports that “Chelsea have cooled their interest in Osimhen in recent weeks” and are instead turning towards other options, including Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres and Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap.
That development narrows the field to two realistic contenders: Juventus, armed with agent connections and Serie A familiarity, and Manchester United, rich in ambition but light on liquidity.
Whichever club wins this race may not just be signing a striker — they could be acquiring the defining figure of their post-rebuild era.
For Manchester United fans, this is the transfer that has to happen. Rasmus Hojlund has shown promise, but United cannot pin an entire season on potential. Victor Osimhen offers guarantees: goals, physicality, and a presence that unnerves defenders. If you want to build a title-challenging side, he’s the calibre of player you invest in.
What’s worrying, though, is the financial tightrope United are walking. If the PSR rules force a sale-first approach, clubs like Juventus may steal a march. While Osimhen “wants a Premier League move,” football doesn’t wait for accountancy.
Joshua Zirkzee possibly leaving? That makes sense. But if United want Osimhen, they’ll need to move quickly, decisively, and perhaps even ruthlessly. Otherwise, they risk repeating past mistakes — hesitating while others act.
The price may be high, but so too is the cost of inaction. The Stretford End is crying out for a striker of Osimhen’s magnitude. Time to answer.
