Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior has become of interest to Juventus again following the long-term injury suffered by first-choice centre-back Gleison Bremer during the Champions League win over RB Leipzig on Wednesday, according to transfer expert Matteo Moretto.
Bremer suffered a cruciate ligament (ACL) injury during the 3-2 win in Leipzig and is expected to be sidelined for a minimum period of six months, if not longer.
The Brazilian’s injury has left Thiago Motta relatively light at the heart of the defence, as Pierre Kalulu and Federico Gatti are the only senior, ‘regular’ centre-backs in the squad.
Moretto, in his Caught Offside Daily Briefing column, reports that the Bianconeri will not look to bring in a replacement on the free agent market in the coming weeks, but the club could look to make a new addition in January.
Kiwior, who was linked with a number of Serie A clubs in the summer, including Inter, Milan and Atalanta, could also be on Juventus’s radar again.
The former Spezia defender is not a regular starter under Mikel Arteta at present, especially after the purchase of Riccardo Calafiori and the return of Jurrien Timber, but it is still not guaranteed that Arsenal will let him leave in January.
