Juventus stance on Tudor future revealed after 1-1 Bologna draw

Monday’s reports suggest that Igor Tudor’s future with Juventus is still undecided following Sunday evening’s 1-1 draw with Bologna in Serie A, but much still depends on the team’s qualification for the Champions League.

The Bianconeri took an early first-half lead through Khephren Thuram at the Dall’Ara on Sunday evening, but were pegged back by a Remo Freuler equaliser nine minutes into the second half.

The result means that there are now four teams, separated by one point in the table, fighting for one spot in the top four which will bring qualification to the 2025-26 Champions League. Juve, Roma and Lazio are all level on 63 points, with Bologna just behind on 62 with three games to go.

Reports Juventus still unconvinced by Tudor

Since taking over from Thiago Motta towards the end of March, Tudor has overseen six matches with a record of three wins, two draws and one loss. That run includes a 1-0 win over Genoa, a 1-1 draw with Roma, a 2-1 win against Lecce, a 1-0 loss to Parma, a 2-0 win over Monza and Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Bologna.

According to reports from Ilbianconero.com, Tudor is unlikely to be in charge of Juventus next season if the team does not achieve Champions League qualification at the end of the 2024-25 campaign.

However, finishing the 2024-25 season in the top four will not necessarily guarantee Tudor’s future with Juventus either, as the Bianconeri want firm guarantees from their next permanent head coach, which Tudor has not been able to prove in just six games.

Either way, Tudor will still be in charge for the Club World Cup kicking off in mid-June, and it is unlikely that any official announcements regarding th next head coach before then.
