Kalulu states Milan move was the ‘right choice’ despite being doubted | OneFootball

Pierre Kalulu seems likely to depart AC Milan permanently this summer, but he has reflected on his move, which brought him to Italy today.

In the summer, the decision to part ways with Kalulu was heavily questioned, more so when it was to Juventus, a direct rival, whilst also including a buy option clause rather than a definitive end. Even then, though, keeping others and moving away from the Frenchman was heavily criticised by fans.

For the defender, though, things have been fantastic in Turin, where he has returned to his former self, looking confident in his performances and very much capable of performing to a very high level.

So, it is no surprise that the growingly likely former Milan man will make his move to Juventus permanent in the summer, when the opportunity is there to do so. However, he still looks back on his time in Rossoneri colours fondly, and today, he spoke about his move to the club to Juventus, via Milan Press.

“When I moved to Milan, people told me it would be difficult, but in my head it didn’t seem like anything insurmountable. I thought I would make it. In France, people didn’t believe it, but I did. It’s a character thing, and it helped me a lot.

“What was the jump from Lyon B to AC Milan? I thought about where I could become great, and there I decided that Milan would be the right place. Of course, it wasn’t an easy choice, but in the end it was the right choice because I got out of my comfort zone and it was good for me.”
