The stats behind Harry Kane's title-winning season with Bayern Munich

His goalscoring prowess never in question, Harry Kane's all-round game stepped up one more notch in 2024/25, the season when that previously elusive team title finally landed in the forward's grateful grasp.

“That drive will be with me until the end of my career, whether I finish with one trophy or 20 trophies, ultimately it won't change my mindset and what I want to achieve and how I try and achieve it.”So said new Bundesliga champion Kane when speaking to bundesliga.com.

After celebrating a first-ever senior team trophy, it is not difficult to see just how big a role the English marksman played in Bayern’s reclaiming of their top-flight title this term. There is just one game to go in what has been an exciting 2024/25 season, and when the final whistle sounds across the division this Saturday, it is the Bavarians’ No. 9 who is the runaway favourite to win a second successive Torjägerkanone, awarded to the Bundesliga’s highest goalscorer.

Kane has netted 25 Bundesliga goals, five more than his nearest rival Serhou Guirassy of Borussia Dortmund. Bayer Leverkusen’s Patrik Schick has 19. Barring an almost unimaginable swing, England’s record goal-getter will finish on top of the charts inside Hoffenheim’s PreZero Arena, where Bayern conclude their domestic campaign.

The 31-year-old will more than likely finish top for goal involvements too. The former Tottenham Hotspur striker’s seven assists – which is only second to Michael Olise’s haul (14) at Bayern – brings his tally to 32 goal involvements for the season, a number unmatched in the league.

“A No.9 is going to be judged on goals and how many they score,” Kane said in an interview with UEFA earlier this season. “But I think it's important when you're not scoring goals that you still bring an impact to the team, and that's what I try to do, both with and without the ball,” the  Londoner continued.

It is in that aspect where Kane stands out among the world’s best goalscorers. He doesn’t just put the ball in the net. When in Bayern’s starting line-up this term, the Bavarians have won 22 times, drawn six and never lost. Without him, there have been two wins, one draw and two defeats.

“I feel like my game's changed a little bit this season,” the forward told bundesliga.com. “We've played against a lot of low blocks and a lot of teams in those situations are not always easy for a striker to get on the ball and get chances. But, I think we've done some work about dropping into half positions, in between the centre-backs and the midfielders. Also, I’m probably playing more one-touch now than I have before in my career.”

A more rounded game, then, all the while remembering what the main task is in front of the target. When Kane has found the net this season, Bayern have won all 16 of those Bundesliga matches in which he has done so. Of the games without a Kane goal, the champions have won less than half. As many as 10 of his 25 Bundesliga goals in 2024/25 have given Bayern a 1-0 lead – a number that is unmatched in the top tier this time around. By Matchday 11 this term, he had already scored three hat-tricks.

Despite telling UEFA that, “Taking a penalty is nerve-wracking and you feel those nerves; I try and take the pressure away by preparing well,” the iconic striker has scored nine times from the penalty spot this season, never once displaying any of the trepidation he speaks of. Indeed, Kane is yet to miss from the spot in the Bundesliga after 14 successful conversions in Germany’s top-flight. “Once I have that ball on the spot, I'm not thinking about anything else other than my preparation,” he said.

Kane has scored, on average, a goal every 94 minutes in the Bundesliga this season. He is second - with 108 - only to Eintracht Frankfurt's Hugo Ekitiké (111) in terms of shots on goal in the league and boasts the highest xGoals value at 22.1.

However, when it comes down to it this weekend, the headline writers will report that the Englishman is the first-ever player to score at least 25 goals in his first two Bundesliga seasons.

For added spice, the Bayern frontman will likely join only two other non-German players - in Robert Lewandowski and Anthony Yeboah - to have been top scorers in this division twice.

“This title is a big dream come true for me; I've waited a long time for it,” Kane told Bayern’s official website this week. “I'm confident that we will continue to win more titles as a team in the coming years and add to the impressive trophy collection here,” he added. That first-ever team title now sealed, Kane the goal-machine is ready to see out what has been a season of highs, in his own original style.
