But to continue their fine form, they will want to come out of this transfer window with their best players still at the club, which includes keeping hold of Kasey McAteer.

Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing Kasey McAteer

Leicester City midfielder Kasey McAteer is on the radar of Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.

He has revealed that Tottenham have been looking at McAteer, and he’s on their radar, but a deal shouldn’t be expected anytime soon.

Jacobs told Spurs Chat Podcast, via SpursWeb.com: “The other player Tottenham are looking at, a different type of player to the ones we have mentioned is Kasey McAteer at Leicester, they really like him.

“He started well for Leicester, but then he got an injury, with Leicester flying they’re likely to get promotion to the Premier League. I’m not sure anything is possible there in 2024 just because he’s in the right place for his development.”

Everton and Crystal Palace interest

It was reported by Football Transfers back in November that Everton and Crystal Palace were monitoring McAteer ahead of the January window.

The report stated that both teams are looking to improve in their wide option but at the time there may have been a reluctance from McAteer to join a side that is battling against relegation.

It was then reported in December by the Daily Mail, that Everton were admirers of McAteer.

The winger is enjoying his breakthrough season at the King Power Stadium, and it has been suggested that he’s caught the attention of sides from the top flight.

However, while Everton do hold an interest in the 22-year-old, the report adds that budget issues will influence the business done by the Toffees in January.

It then also adds that Everton’s chances of signing the player in this transfer window are “slim”.

McAteer came through the academy at Leicester City, working his way up the under-18s, under-21s, and now into the first team.

The winger has taken to life in the first team very well this season, as he’s scored five goals in 15 appearances in all competitions.

The 22-year-old is coming to a crucial point in his career as he has entered the final 18 months of his contract.

The winger signed a new deal in February 2022, and that deal runs until next summer, meaning McAteer now has just one and a half seasons left to run on his current contract.
