As confirmed by the Bees’ official website, Lewis-Potter is set to stay at the club until 2028 after signing a six-year deal.

Whereas the fee paid for Lewis-Potter has not been disclosed by Brentford, it is understood that Hull received £16m for the England Under-21 international and could potentially be in line to secure an extra £4m from add-ons included as part of this deal.

Hull will be hoping to move forward as a club in Lewis-Potter’s absence next season after consolidating a place in the Championship earlier this year.

The Tigers have added seven players to their squad already this summer with Oscar Estupinan becoming the latest player to join the club yesterday.

Instagram that the memories of playing for the club in recent seasons will stay with him forever.

The winger posted: “Just wanted to start by thanking everyone involved @hullcity football club for my time there over the last 7 years.

“For all the fans who have supported me since making my debut at 17 for my home town club, I cannot thank you enough and you will always have a special place in my heart.

“I will definitely see you all soon.”

The Verdict

This is a classy message from Lewis-Potter who managed to deliver a host of impressive performances for Hull during his time at the club.

Following the Tigers’ promotion to the Championship last year, the winger helped the club avoid the threat of being dragged into a relegation battle last season by providing 15 direct goal contributions at this level.

An incredibly talented player, it wouldn’t be at all surprising if Lewis-Potter goes on to deliver the goods on a consistent basis in the Premier League for Brentford.

By reinvesting the money that they have received for Potter wisely between now and the end of the transfer window, Hull could potentially go on to reach new heights in the second-tier with Shota Arveladze at the helm.
