Pep Guardiola is having the toughest time of his managerial career. Manchester City are struggling badly and it seems like they are missing many pieces in the puzzle. In their previous game, they took a 3-0 lead against Feyenoord only to leak in the dying minutes and settle for a draw.
The Citizens’ problems aren’t reducing anytime soon as they have to face Liverpool at Anfield in the Premier League this Sunday. Their arch-rivals are already leading the points table with eight points and the English champions cannot afford to drop any further points.
Defence
Ederson made some silly mistakes in the previous game and such incidents aren’t expected from him. He would like to change the momentum in this game. Kyle Walker could come into the XI at the expense of Rico Lewis to deal with Liverpool’s pace.
Ruben Dias made it onto the bench in the previous game and is likely to start this game. He should replace Nathan Ake at the heart of the defence to form the pair with Manuel Akanji. Left-back Josko Gvardiol had a disastrous game but he is a top quality one can rely upon.

Midfield
Ilkay Gundogan’s selection becomes necessary amid the injuries to notable midfielders. Bernardo Silva is another name that one should expect to see on the team list.
Interestingly, Kevin De Bruyne is likely to get his first start in many weeks as the game holds a high significance.
Attack
Jack Grealish should be the one operating on the left wing with Phil Foden playing in the central areas. Erling Haaland leads the offensive pack and will have to play a key role if the Citizens want to do well.
Mateo Kovacic, Oscar Bobb and Rodri are confirmed absentees while John Stones and Jeremy Doku are doubtful for participation.
