Barcelona defender Andreas Christensen’s return to full training is still at least two weeks away, according to a recent report from SPORT.
This means that Christensen, who has been sidelined since August, will not be rejoining the team until December at the earliest. By then, he will have been out of action for nearly four months.
Initially, Christensen’s injury was thought to be minor, but it quickly became clear that it was much more serious than originally believed. The club had hoped for a quicker recovery, but the extent of the damage has led to an extended period on the sidelines.
The injury has had a significant impact on Barcelona’s plans, with the club announcing that they would use this time to facilitate the registration of Dani Olmo.
This announcement raised some doubts since his expected date of return was within two months. As a result, many questioned whether the club’s timeline for Christensen’s recovery was accurate.

However, three months have passed since the injury, and there is still no sign of Christensen returning to full training with the squad under manager Hansi Flick.
While Christensen has been doing some individual work on the pitch, he is not yet close to rejoining his teammates. This delay means that, by the time he is ready to play, it will have been almost four months since his injury occurred.
Fortunately for Christensen, when he does make his comeback, there will be no issues at the federative level, allowing him to resume playing without restrictions.
However, there is a concern regarding Olmo’s registration. Starting from January 1, Olmo will face complications in his registration, as Barcelona will need to ensure the necessary financial agreements are in place, particularly with the capital infusion from Barça Studios.
This situation adds pressure to the club’s efforts to balance the squad’s needs while also dealing with the ongoing injury situation of Christensen.
