Holstein Kiel have been relegated to Bundesliga 2 following a 2-1 defeat by Freiburg on Matchday 33.

It was a tough debut Bundesliga season for Kiel, who had to wait until Matchday 9 to record their first win of the campaign with a 1-0 success over Heidenheim.

That was one of just six victories for the north German club, with their 2-1 loss at home to Freiburg on Matchday 33 confirming their relegation back to the second tier.
