Speaking to the media ahead of their clash with Bayer Leverkusen on Sunday, Niko Kovač answered questions at Borussia Dortmund's press conference.
“It won't be easy in Leverkusen, but they know we've made progress in recent weeks. We need a good day, but if we perform to our maximum, I believe we have the ability to win the game.
"I'm pleased that we've been so successful in recent weeks. It would be a fantastic achievement if we managed to move from 11th place to 4th place."
“We know Bayer Leverkusen's qualities, but we have our own plans and we want to win the game," he explained.
After stating that he will be attending relegation-threatened BVB U23's game with Stuttgart U23's later, Kovač gave a squad update for the trip to the BayArena.
"Maxi Beier won't be with us this weekend. We've taken Emre [Can], Jamie [Gittens], and Carney [Chukwuemeka] out a bit today.
All three players will be back on the training ground tomorrow," he added.
