Kyle Walker completed a loan move to AC Milan yesterday. The former Manchester City captain has initially joined the Serie A giants on loan for the remainder of this season. For now, Kyle Walker’s City career is over, if not at least on hold. But during his time at the club, he has given his all to Manchester City, and for that, he should be commended and celebrated.
During his time at Manchester City Kyle Walker has been a key pillar to Manchester City’s recent dominance. During his time at the club, Walker has won six Premier League titles, four League Cups, two FA Cups, and two Community Shields, alongside a UEFA Champions League title, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup. Outside of the trophies City have won Walker has established himself as arguably the greatest right-back in Premier League history.
The biggest compliment you can give Walker is at his peak at Manchester City he dominated several stars of the game. He pocketed players such as Kylian Mbappe, Vincius Junior and others at times and when he was at his best the right-back position was a strength of City’s defence. Teams couldn’t get at Pep Guardiola’s side through Kyle Walker when he was at his best. Without him it’s doubtful that Manchester City would have had the era of dominance they’ve had in recent seasons. Walker played a key role in City’s success and although his form has suffered this season his legacy as an all-time great at Manchester City is secure.
Kyle Walker has joined AC Milan for the remainder of this season. If he has played his last game for Manchester City he leaves after giving his all to the club. His legacy is well established and his contribution to Manchester City will never be forgotten.
