According to the AFP, Kylian Mbappé (25) has rejected the recommendation from the Ligue de Football Professionnel’s legal committee to attend a mediation with Paris Saint-Germain to settle their ongoing dispute over unpaid wages and bonuses.

The Real Madrid player had contacted the LFP’s legal committee on the 8th of August to help bring about a resolution to his conflict with his former club. Mbappé accuses PSG of having not paid him around €55 million in wages and bonuses.

The French club rejects Mbappé’s argument as they state that the forward agreed to give up some of his earnings if he was to leave the club as a free agent  – as he did in the summer when he opted to leave PSG at the end of his contract to become a Real Madrid player.

The agreement – although it was never put in writing – was referenced publicly by Mbappé who stated in January, “With the agreement that I made with the president this summer, regardless of my decision, (at the end of the 2023/24 campaign) we have managed to protect all parties, maintain serenity at the club for the future challenges – that’s the most important thing.”

Earlier today, PSG had welcomed the recommendation made by the LFP, announcing that they had been trying “for many months” to establish a mediation with their former player.
