After Barcelona and Vitor Roque had seemingly reached a dead end over the player’s future, new details today reveal a dramatic change in the situation.

As relayed earlier today, there are now clear and rapid developments regarding Tigrinho’s transfer away from Barcelona.

Real Betis, in particular, are well-positioned in this regard and even sent a delegation to Catalonia earlier today to close the deal.

Open Message

Real Betis sports director Manuel Fajardo, his assistant and club legend Joaquín Sánchez, and Ramón Alarcón, the general manager of the club, travelled to Barcelona earlier today to catalyze talks and see the operation through.

As revealed by Jijantes FC, Joaquín Sánchez openly spoke about Roque in a recent interaction—a move that has only served to fuel the existing rumours.

“A good player and I can’t say more,” he said modestly when asked about Roque.

While his statement indeed does not give much away, the Real Betis administrator’s willingness to even comment on a player contractually obligated to Barcelona says a lot.

Break-even?

Barcelona signed the Brazilian striker from Athletico Paranaense less than a year ago in a deal worth close to €30 million.

The Blaugrana’s primary objective, thus, is to at least recoup their investment in the player and break even in the overall transaction.

Sporting CP are willing to meet that price tag with add-ons and thus pose serious competition to Real Betis, who must either match or surpass the offer from Portugal. Although, as of now, it is suggested that the Seville-based club are only eyeing a loan deal.

The 19-year-old striker is yet to be registered for La Liga and was consequently left out of the squad to face Valencia earlier this week.

Pau Victor’s arrival and quick adaptation to the team, moreover, virtually closes any hope the player had of succeeding at the club.
