La Liga displeased as Barcelona approach FIFA for Vitor Roque’s potential transfer | OneFootball

It would not be too wrong to say that FC Barcelona and La Liga have not been on the best of terms for some years now. The two organisations have contended on several points, with the latest point of contention between them being the transfer of Vitor Roque to Palmeiras.

The Brazilian striker is currently playing on loan at Real Betis, but the South American club wants to bring him back to his native country, and the Blaugranes are also looking forward to the successful completion of this operation.

However, they received a setback in this regard when they consulted La Liga if this move could happen, and received a negative reply as the league authorities did not believe it was possible for a loan to be terminated before its stipulated time outside of a transfer window.

In such circumstances, SPORT reports that La Liga is seeing Barcelona’s approach of FIFA and UEFA as another action that can further deteriorate the relations between the two entities.

These relations have been under severe stress in recent months, mainly because of the Dani Olmo case, as the league authorities were reluctant to register the Blaugrana player and the Catalans got him registered only after getting a provisional order from a court.

However, despite La Liga’s displeasure, it is easy to see that Barcelona have done nothing wrong in this latest instance, as they have approached only a higher sporting organisation to find an article that will allow them to go ahead with a transfer that can help them a lot in their current financial environment.

Meanwhile, another more pertinent question would be why La Liga have an article in their regulations that is not in line with FIFA’s rules.
