Lack of inspiration vindicating Leicester relegation shouts

Ruud van Nistelrooy inherited a bad situation in Leicester City. Regardless, most acknowledge that the recent displays are beyond acceptable. For a team that is about to be playing in the Championship, there is an overall shocking amount of fight.
Meaning there isn't much of any. This latest 2-0 defeat looks better in the scoreline than what it actually was. West Ham could have doubled their goal total, but more importantly, the Foxes never truly posed a threat to Alphonse Areola.
The manager doesn't exactly have a lot of options available. But sticking with the same predictable approach and formation is irritating the fanbase. Granted, after a long run of starts, Jordan Ayew sat this past match in question out entirely. Only for Facundo Buonanotte to not have a showing that inspires too much confidence moving forward.
And this speaks to the overall issue. The club misstepped well before RvN took over the reins. In reality, this is not a Premier League side. This truth is apparent on a weekly basis and further illustrated by the clear talent gap.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka, for example, had the time of his life, almost prancing down the right-hand side. Even if Leicester hadn't given up two weak goals. There is little doubt that the Hammers would have found a way to secure the three points.
The East Midlands side may be outmatched in every encounter. However, this was known heading into the EPL season. Consequently, the willingness to overcome was needed. An internal desire to stay in top-flight action should be easily seen in every match.
Instead, there are half-hearted attempts at clearances. Lack of off-ball movement or risk-taking in the final third dooms the squad even when they do manage to win the ball back. It's this lack of spirit that has many already calling for van Nistelrooy to go, and the demands to clean out the club as a whole are only growing louder.
