Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal secured for himself a fresh piece of club history over the weekend.
This came owing to his exploits en route to Barcelona’s hard-fought victory over Deportivo Alavés.
Hansi Flick’s troops of course marked their return to action on Sunday afternoon, welcoming Alavés to Catalunya’s capital for a La Liga clash.
When all was said and done, the Blaugrana emerged victorious, thanking a solitary Robert Lewandowski strike for a 1-0 triumph.
Whilst it was Lewandowski who proved himself the decisive figure when it comes to the scoreline, though, it was Lamine Yamal who stole the headlines once more.
The 17-year-old conjured up nothing short of a scintillating performance against Alavés, dazzling from his customary berth on the right flank.
So much so that, as alluded to above, Lamine managed to make fresh history.
As revealed by statisticians Opta:
‘Lamine Yamal attempted 21 dribbles against Alavés (11 completed), the most of any Barcelona player in a single LaLiga game since at least 05/06 (20 by Lionel Messi vs Mallorca in April 2007).’
