United completed the double over Rovers, with Shania Hayles and Freya Gregory coming in for specific praise for their involvement in a five-star display at Ewood Park.
Having ended the season going four games unbeaten and recording a fifth-placed finish, Langley is keen for her side to take this momentum and style of play into their next campaign, which kicks off in September.
"It was fantastic to see us score five goals," Langley said post-match. "I think the second half showed what we're all about, and we want to show more of that heading into next season.
"I was delighted to see Shania get her second hat-trick of the season. It was just a shame she finished one shy of the Championship golden boot.
"Freya was really bright in the second half. I liked the way she was getting at their full back and putting in numerous dangerous crosses, and it was a great finish from her to get her second goal for us."
For not the first time this season, United were backed by a loyal and raucous away following which has followed them up and down the country.
Newcastle's away contingent outnumbered the home supporters, and Langley told newcastleunited.com that she wants her side to represent what goes on in the stands.
"Our fans always come to our games in amazing numbers, and we want to embody what they provide us with in the stands," she said.
"We want to be a high-energy and fast-paced team, and our fans certainly do an amazing job of matching that, no matter where we're playing."
While it was an impressive feat to score five goals on the final day of the season, Sunday's affair will be fondly remembered for long-serving all-time appearance holder Grace Donnelly making her Championship debut.
Donnelly was afforded a heartfelt goodbye two weeks ago at Kingston Park, and United's manager was delighted to hand the club captain one final appearance in a Newcastle shirt.
"Grace has been an incredible advocate for women's football in the North East during her nine-season stint with the club," Langley added.
"I'm so glad we could give her that moment to make her Championship debut. I think the fans really wanted to see her one more time, and I know that everyone associated with the football club will have been happy to see her get on the pitch."
