Lars Lukas Mai signs new Bayern deal and departs on loan

Bayern Munich have announced that defender Lars Lukas Mai has signed a new contract with the club.

His previous deal had been due to expire at the end of the 2021/22 campaign.

However, Bayern confirmed on Tuesday evening that he has extended his stay in Bavaria until the summer of 2023.

In addition, they also announced that he will spend the upcoming season on loan in the second division with SV Darmstadt 98.

Mai was part of the Bayern under-23 side which won the third division at their first attempt this year.
