A last-minute injury in the warm-up to Milan striker Luka Jovic means that Tammy Abraham starts up front for the Rossoneri in their Serie A match away against Venezia on Sunday afternoon.

Venezia-Milan is one of seven Serie A matches taking place on Sunday due to various postponements earlier in the week.

Jovic, who has scored four goals in his last five appearances for Sergio Conceicao’s side, had been named in the starting line-up alongside Rafael Leao and Christian Pulisic, but was in pain towards the end of the warm-up and had to be replaced by Abraham as a result.

According to initial reports from Sky Sport Italia, the Serbian was struggling with pain in his lower back before heading back down the tunnel ahead of kick-off.

This will be Abraham’s first start in Serie A for three matches. The good omen for the Rossoneri is that the former Chelsea striker scored the last time he was named in a Serie A starting XI, during the 2-2 draw with Fiorentina earlier in April. Coincidentally, Jovic got Milan’s other goal on that occasion.
