During the 5th minute, Hoffenheim's Hložek hit the near post with an effort as Hoffenheim almost took the lead.

Hoffenheim started brighter with three shots in the first fifteen minutes, but in the 25th minute Eintracht Frankfurt won a penalty thanks to Hugo Ekitiké being brought down in the box.

After this penalty being awarded via VAR, it was Ekitiké himself who stepped up and slotted the penalty in the right hand corner for 1-0.

Just before half time, TSG Hoffenheim had a chance through Anton Stach who won a corner thanks to a deflected shot thanks to disarray in Frankfurt's own box.

After half time, Frankfurt's Larsson had the ball cleverly stolen from him at the last moment by Kevin Akpoguma.

During the 60th minute, Hoffenheim had a goal ruled out for offside as Adam Hložek was deemed to be in an offside position by a VAR check.

Five minutes later, Hoffenheim did however get their equaliser thanks to substitute Gift Orban who tapped the ball into an empty net following a pass from Hložek.

With a quick reply, Hugo Ekitké made sure the game would be turned on its head once again as he combined with Kristensen to get himself a great chance to tap the ball in the box to make it 2-1 to the away side.

During the 87th minute, Ansgar Knauff fired the ball over the bar as he was unable to secure the three points for the away side.

In dramatic fashion, Adam Hložek finally got his goal after hitting the bar and being offside earlier in the game.

This time, Andrej Kramarić's chipped pass found the Czech international who was able to hit it hard and low past Kevin Trapp to see the tie out at 2-2.
