According to AFP, Layvin Kurzawa (31) has been questioned as part of an investigation into an assault outside of a Paris nightclub, after the former Paris Saint-Germain player’s entourage allegedly attacked a tourist leaving the venue.

The investigation was opened after a Canadian tourist filed a complaint on June 1st accusing men who were accompanying the footballer of having attacked him as they left a nightclub at 5 am on the 30th of May.

According to the complainant, he was outside the venue with his phone out in front of him when he was approached by a man he later identified as Kurzawa. Kurzawa is alleged to have asked him for his phone to see his videos as the player believed that he was being filmed.

The complainant refused to do so, when “three or four” of the footballer’s entourage are alleged to have attacked him. The complainant says he was “strangled from behind” and made to fall to the floor, where he injured his elbow, arms, and face. He then alleges that he was forced to unlock his phone and reveal his photo library where it was revealed that he had no photos or videos of the player.

On Friday, Kurzawa and his driver spoke to the ongoing investigation, according to a source who spoke to AFP. No one has yet to be taken into custody. Kurzawa’s entourage did not immediately respond to AFP’s questions about the matter.
