As expected, the Lazio players were torched by the Italian newspapers following their horror show at home against Inter Milan.
The Biancocelesti entered the contest riding high on confidence after beating Napoli (twice) and Ajax in the last three outings, but ended up suffering a humiliating 0-6 defeat at the hands of the reigning Italian champions. Tijjani Noslin could have put the home side in the lead, but his wasted chances proved costly later on, so he received an under-par rating of 4/10 on most accounts (via La Lazio Siamo Noi).
Nevertheless, the Dutchman wasn’t the only one who earned poor grades. Nuno Tavares was the culprit on several goals, as he was completely outplayed by his counterpart Denzel Dumfries. Moreover, Adam Marusic had an evening to forget, especially after switching to the centre-back role in the second half following the exits of Mario Gila and then Samuel Gigot.
On the contrary, Matteo Guendouzi and Nicolo Rovella were the only ones who were spared, at least on one account, earning 6.5/10 for their efforts in the middle of the park.
