Lazio have reportedly struck an accord with the entourage of Hellas Verona youngster Reda Belahyane.
After securing the services of Arijon Ibrahimovic who became the club’s first January signing, the Aquile are still keen to land a new central midfielder. While Jacopo Fazzini was determined to join, Lazio couldn’t find an agreement with Empoli which stalled the operation, while luring Cesare Casadei from Chelsea remains a challenging task.
Therefore, Belahyane could be the Biancocelesti’s most realistic option, and the management is reportedly making important strides on this particular track. According to FootMercato, Lazio and Belahyane have reached an agreement on personal terms. Moreover, the Italian capital side has presented Verona with an official offer and is currently awaiting a response.
La Lazio Siamo Noi reveals that the club has put €13.5 million on the table in addition to bonuses that could raise the sum to €15 million. Lazio president Claudio Lotito shares a great rapport with his Verona counterpart Maurizio Setti, but despite the imminent change in the ownership of the Gialloblu club, the capital side remains confident in sealing the deal, insists the source.
Belahyane is a 20-year-old French Morrocan midfielder who rose through the ranks of OGC Nice before being poached by Verona last January for less than €1 million. The young Regista made his debut last season under the guidance of Marco Baroni, but has now become a pillar in Paolo Zanetti’s tactical system.
