Lazio midfielder Nicolo Rovella has returned to training, making a swift recovery from a muscular issue he recently suffered.
The 22-year-old picked up the knock in training, forcing him to skip Thursday’s Serie A contest against Como which ended in a 5-1 victory for the Biancocelesti.
While his services were hardly needed in midweek, Rovella remains a key player in Marco Baroni’s middle of the park. Therefore, the coach will be delighted to have him back at his disposal.
According to La Lazio Siamo Noi, the former Genoa man has returned to training alongside his teammates and appears ready to start in Monday’s Serie A fixture against Cagliari.
On the other hand, Patric didn’t take part in Saturday’s session, while Matteo Guendouzi trained separately as the technical staff continue to carefully manage his condition after bruising his toe on international duty.
Moreover, club captain Mattia Zaccagni only trained partially with the squad as he hasn’t yet fully recovered from a severe gastroenteritis issue that ruled him out of the previous two contests.
Taty Castellanos also trained partially, suggesting he could be dropped to the bench on Monday, with Boulaye Dia leading the line.
The source also reveals that Samuel Gigot and Alessio Romagnoli could be pushing for a starting berth against the Sardinians, and the same goes for Manuel Lazzari who has made his return from injury coming in as a late substitute on Thursday.
