Ipswich Town loanee Elkan Baggott has thanked Bristol Rovers manager Matt Taylor for allowing him to play regular football at the Memorial Stadium, but insists that there is still a lot of learning left.
After managing to feature only in four EFL Cup games for the Tractor Boys in the first half of the season, Baggott joined League One club Bristol Rovers on the final day of the January transfer window in search of regular first-team action.
His purpose has so far been fulfilled as he has featured in all but four league games for Taylor’s side.
Giving an assessment of his spell at the Memorial Stadium, Baggott insisted that it has been brilliant for him as he has learnt a lot.
“It [the loan spell] has been brilliant. It has been ups and downs”, Baggott told Bristol Rovers’ official media.
“So just learning wisely for me as a young player is the most important thing while I have been here and I have learned a lot.
“Still a lot of learning to go, so just keep going.”
On the changes been between the first half and the second half of the season, Baggott insisted: “In the first half of the season, I only really had the cup games at Ipswich.
“So it has been brilliant to come here and get the games and got to thank the manager as well for giving me the opportunity to play here.
“Hopefully, I can continue learning in these last three games and come out a lot better than when I came in.”
The young Ipswich Town academy graduate will return to his parent club at the end of the season and will look to impress Kieran McKenna.
