Lee Carsley names England squad for November games | OneFootball

England interim manager Lee Carsley has announced his squad to face Greece (Thursday, November 14) in Athens and the Republic of Ireland (Sunday, November 17) at Wembley in the UEFA Nations League.

These will be Carsley’s last games in charge of the team before Thomas Tuchel takes over. The former Everton midfielder told reporters that the German tactician had no input in the squad.

Carsley has recorded three wins and one defeat from his four League B Group 2 games, overseeing two victories against Finland and one over Ireland, but they suffered a surprising home loss to Greece. England sit second, three points below unblemished leaders Greece.

There are two new faces in the squad, with Carsley giving maiden calls to Southampton centre-half Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Newcastle United left-back Lewis Hall, who has been in immaculate form this season.

Carsley knows Harwood-Bellis from the Under-21s. The former Manchester City starlet captained the Young Lions to victory at the European Championship in 2023.

Meanwhile, Hall has been fantastic on the left flank for the Toons. He delivered a complete performance as Newcastle beat Arsenal over the weekend, winning 10 of his 14 duels, most coming against the dangerous Bukayo Saka.

He will need to bring that form to the England team, possibly providing a solution to a position that has been a headache for some time.
