Leeds United are ready to improve their bid to try and get a deal over the line for Norwich City winger Jonathan Rowe.

The Whites are in need of strengthening their wing area in the next couple of weeks, with the club having just a fortnight to go until the summer transfer window closes.

In fairness to Daniel Farke's side, they have been able to get some shrewd deals over the line during the current window.

Joe Rodon, Alex Cairns and Jayden Bogle all joined permanently - and Joe Rothwell has made a season-long loan move from AFC Bournemouth.

However, they have also lost some key players, with Archie Gray, Glen Kamara and Crysencio Summerville all leaving Elland Road in recent months.

With Jaidon Anthony's loan spell coming to an end after last season and former key man Summerville moving on, the wing area needs to be addressed as a matter of urgency if the Whites are to give themselves the best chance of securing a Premier League return at the second time of asking.

With Georginio Rutter also set to leave, more attacking firepower is much-needed and Leeds have been linked with a number of potential targets, including Rowe and Rangers winger Rabbi Matondo.

However, it's unclear who will arrive at Elland Road before the deadline on August 30th.

Leeds United willing to submit improved Jonathan Rowe bid

Leeds are thought to be willing to launch a fresh, improved offer for the Canaries' star.

Marseille had a second bid rejected for the England youth international recently, with the French side proposing a loan-to-buy agreement.

With Roberto De Zerbi's side suffering another setback in their quest to sign the 21-year-old, that could open the door for Leeds to swoop in and get a deal over the line for the player, who hasn't featured in Norwich's first two games of the 2024/25 campaign.

Missing from both matchday squads, Rowe's departure seems inevitable, and Leeds are reportedly prepared to submit a bigger offer than Marseille made to try and secure an agreement, according to TEAMtalk.

With Rutter set to go, Leeds should have the funds needed to pay Norwich's asking price.

Leeds United should look to move quickly to recruit Jonathan Rowe

Leeds should be looking to negotiate the best possible deals, because they don't want to overspend.

However, they should have plenty of money at their disposal to go and sign some of their targets now.

The Rowe situation is especially sensitive, with the player failing to appear for the Canaries so far this season.

He needs an end to this saga as quickly as possible if he wants to have the best chance of enjoying a successful 2024/25 season.

With this in mind, the sooner Leeds can sign Rowe, the better.

And if there's a chance they won't sign the 21-year-old before the window closes, they need to have alternative targets lined up.

Ideally, they need to bring more than one winger in before the summer window closes with both Anthony and Summerville leaving, but whether they can get two deals over the line remains to be seen.
