Leicester are reportedly battling with Southampton to sign ADO Den Haag defender Wilfried Kanon this summer.
Kanon made 30 appearances for the Eredivisie outfit this season where he impressed with his electric pace and commanding presence.
Clubs from both Germany and Spain are thought to be keeping tabs on the Ivory Coast international but the Leicester Mercury say that the Foxes and the Saints are the two sides in pole position.
It’s thought that Den Haag will accept offers of around €5m for the centre-back with both looking to move soon, rather than wait until after this summer’s African Cup of Nations.
Kanon has been included in the Ivory Coast squad and there are concerns from the Premier League sides that an impressive showing in Egypt could bump up his price five-fold.
