The Foxes have dropped down into the Championship and have done so with a wealth of options throughout the team.

Leicester have exciting options throughout the squad but are very well stocked in the final third, as they can rely on Jamie Vardy, Thomas Cannon, Kelechi Iheanacho, and Patson Daka.

The latter are the most interesting for Leicester, as both were linked with moves away from the club in the summer, but nothing materialised, and now they are trying to get the club back into the top flight.

Iheanacho has been at the King Power Stadium since 2017, when he arrived from Manchester City. He has played over 200 games for the club and has been part of the sides that have won the FA Cup and the Community Shield.

Daka has been with the Foxes since 2021, and he has over 70 appearances to his name, as he was brought in by former manager Brendan Rodgers.

How have Kelechi Iheanacho and Patson Daka performed this season?

Iheanacho has appeared in all 12 games in the Championship this season, but he has only started in half of them, as competition has been fierce in the Leicester team.

Despite being in and out of the starting XI so far this season, Iheanacho has five goals to his name in the league, with four coming in the last five games.

The forward has been a very good buy for the club but has struggled to be consistent enough to be a regular starter.

The same can be said for Daka, who has been with Leicester for two years now but has struggled to replicate the form that earned him his move in the first place.

So far this season, Daka has not played a single minute in the Championship, despite being on the bench for some of Leicester’s league games. His only appearance so far has come in the Carabao Cup, meaning he is not favoured under Enzo Maresca.

How much is Kelechi Iheanacho worth?

When the Foxes signed Iheanacho in 2017, it was reported that the club paid around £25 million for the forward.

The Nigerian international signed a five-year contract when he arrived, and that was extended in 2021. His new contract is valid until the end of this season.

Iheanacho is now 27 years old, and with him just having one year left on his contract, it is likely he is not going to be worth the same amount as the club paid for him.

The Football Transfers website has a tool named xTV, which is expected transfer value, and it looks at these factors and give us a figure of what the player is worth.

The xTV for Iheanacho is set at around €10.2 million, and the website also states that should Leicester look to sell the forward, they could receive anything from €7.7 million to €12.8 million.

Iheanacho’s highest xTV has been €24.5 million, which is just shy of what the Foxes paid for the player.

How much is Patson Daka worth?

As well as looking at Iheanacho, we also decided to look at fellow Leicester striker Daka and see how his transfer value compares to Iheanacho’s.

Leicester are said to have bought Daka for around £22 million and the forward signed a five-year deal on his arrival.

According to Football Transfers, Daka’s XTV is around €17. 8 million, which is a few million short of what the club paid for him.

The website also states that were the Foxes to sell the striker in January, their xTV range would be €13.4 million to £22.3 million, so Leicester could potentially recoup the money they paid for his services.

Iheanacho has a lesser xTV and range than Daka, as he’s older than Daka, and given that he has a contract that is coming to an end, this will also play a factor.
