Leicester transfer target Jakob Moder has a medical booked in with Feyenoord. It might be time for the Foxes to look elsewhere now.

Leicester City are having a grim season. Despite some early signs of hope under Ruud van Nistelrooy, the Foxes find themselves in woeful form and heading for the drop as it stands.

Nevertheless, Leicester have been unable to operate much business in the January transfer window. This is because they battle to be in alignment with those pesky profit and sustainability rules. Definition of rubbing salt into the wounds.

Well, those Leicester fans who are understandably pessimistic about the club's lack of activity this month might want to look away for this one.

According to a report from Pete O'Rourke of Football Insider, former Leicester transfer target Jakob Moder has a medical scheduled with Feyenoord. The Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder could leave the Seagulls to join Feyenoord for a fee of £1.2 million.

Now, there is a growing sense that this is a missed opportunity from Leicester. While Moder wouldn't have been the midfielder to come in and transform Leicester's fortunes around, he is Premier League proven and the investment would not have not been risky.

What's more is that Moder is a versatile midfielder. Therefore, he could have either held the line or provided the anchor between midfield and attack.

Nevertheless, Leicester must now look on from the window as another one gets away. The report suggests that Leicester were beaten by Feyenoord, who acted quickly on their interest. This was not a luxury afforded to both Leicester and Everton, who only made it to the "interested" stage.

For the player, moving away from the Premier League might be best to accelerate his career. There really was no point in him staying with Brighton after falling out of favour. This was a conclusion reached by both parties, so the exit is amicable.
