RC Lens centre-back Kevin Danso (26) rejected a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers, Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna understands, forcing the Premier League club to sound out alternative targets. As per L’Équipe, an agreement has been reached to sign Stade de Reims’ Emmanuel Agbadou (27).
Sky Sports reported last month that Wolves had made Danso their priority target. Needing to sell players this month, Lens were open to a sale, however, Aouna understands that it was the Austria international’s own objection to the transfer that put paid to a move to Molineux this January.
Having failed to nail their priority target, a piece of information confirmed by Aouna, Wolves looked at other targets. As per L’Équipe, a €20m deal has been struck to sign Agbadou from Reims. Danso may still get a move away from the Stade Bollaert this month with Everton and Southampton also interested in the centre-back, whose move to AS Roma over the summer broke down after he failed a medical.
