Lens have set their sights on signing Fenerbahçe winger Cengiz Ünder (27) before Monday’s closure of the winter transfer window, according to a report this Sunday from Foot Mercato. The outlet understands Will Still’s Lens remain in the market for attacking reinforcements as they previously had an interest in Southampton FC winger Kamaldeen Sulemana. The 27-year-old would make a return to Ligue 1 after previously featuring for Marseille for two seasons, between 2021 and 2023.
Eighteen months ago, Ünder joined Turkish Süper Lig giants Fenerbahçe in a €15m deal and put pen to paper over a four-year deal which is to expire in 2027. The Turkish international has barely featured this campaign under the tutelage of former Chelsea and Manchester United manager José Mourinho. The former Brighton and Roma winger only logged 162 minutes of first-team football. Foot Mercato adds that Fenerbahçe are open to part ways with Ünder.
