Sky Germany reports that Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka will continue to fight to stay at the club despite the increased pressure for him to leave.

The 29-year-old relies on the words of honorary club president Uli Hoeneß who backs Goretzka to stay at the club despite the pressure from others after recently saying:

“In life, everyone gets a second chance. That applies to him at Bayern as well.”

Goretzka has been linked with a move to the USA recently but playing in the MLS does not appeal to him at this stage of his career. The midfielder is only interested in moving to Real Madrid, Barcelona or Liverpool and potentially one to three other unnamed teams.

Recently, Bayern have increased the pressure on pushing Goretzka out of the exit door at the club. First, it began with leaving him out of the matchday squad for Bayern’s DFB Pokal game against Ulm, then it was the comments by Vincent Kompany, Max Eberl and Christoph Freund before and after the game while it is also touted that Goretzka could be excluded from the squad for Bayern’s Bundesliga opener against Wolfsburg.
