According to a recent report from SPORT, Barcelona have yet to make any concrete moves for Lille forward Jonathan David, despite the player being open to making financial sacrifices to secure a transfer to the club on a free deal.
The outlet suggests that the Canadian forward has actively expressed his interest in joining the Blaugrana, but the club’s sporting management remains silent regarding any potential negotiations.
At this point in the season, Barcelona’s lack of urgency to pursue David makes it clear that signing him is not among their top priorities.
Instead, the club’s focus remains on reinforcing the left wing ahead of the summer transfer window.
While David represents an attractive opportunity in the market, the reality is that Barcelona have been evaluating him for over a year without reaching a consensus.

One of the major factors working against his potential arrival is the presence of Ferran Torres. The Spaniard has emerged as a reliable alternative in the centre-forward role, serving as the main backup to Robert Lewandowski.
With Lewandowski’s contract extended and Ferran delivering solid performances, Deco believes that the number nine position is already well covered.
David and his representatives have remained patient, holding onto the hope of securing a move to Barcelona. However, they are aware of the situation and have set a deadline until the end of April to make a decision.
If the Catalan club does not take action by then, they will move forward with one of the several lucrative offers available to them.
As things stand, the striker appears more likely to continue his career in the Premier League. West Ham have presented an offer that is financially too good to turn down, making them the frontrunners for his signature.
Although Hansi Flick appreciates David’s qualities and sees him as a unique attacking option, it seems increasingly unlikely that he will be playing at the club next season.
