Dropped for the final Ligue 1 game before the international break, a 2-2 draw against OGC Nice, Angel Gomes is expected to return to the starting line-up when they take on Jorge Sampaoli’s Stade Rennais on Sunday.
Lille still have many injuries to contend with with the likes of Tiago Santos, Samuel Umtiti, Nabil Bentaleb, André Gomes, and Ethan Mbappé all out, whilst Ngal’ayel Mukau is suspended for the encounter. Bruno Genesio is set to deploy his side in his favoured 4-2-3-1 with Jonathan David once again leading the line.
Gomes will play in the No.1 role with Ayyoub Bouaddi slotting in alongside Benjamin André. Despite his impressive performance against Nice before the international break, Matias Fernandez-Pardo looks set to drop to the bench with Rémy Cabella coming in in his place.
