In a recent report, AS mentioned that Liverpool are facing fierce competition for Real Valladolid youngster Ivan Fresneda. It has been claimed that the Reds will have to rival Juventus, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Roma, Arsenal, and Newcastle United among other clubs in pursuit of the Spanish prospect.

Fresneda’s Impressive Rise In Spanish Football

Fresneda has come through the youth ranks of Real Valladolid and has successfully managed to establish himself as a key member of their senior team. The talented teenager has made seven appearances for the Spanish club but is yet to score or register an assist for them this season across all fronts.

The 18-year-old has proven his worth as a decent performer down the right flank based on his average of 2.5 tackles, 1.3 interceptions, 2.8 clearances and 1.5 key passes per 90 minutes in La Liga. He has even accurate when distributing the ball from the back, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 81.7% in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).

His current contract at Valladolid is set to run out in the summer of 2025. Hence, Liverpool will do well to arrange a cut-price move for the Spanish whizkid next year.

Liverpool Face Stiff Competition For Fresneda: Is He A Prospect For The Future?

Fresneda is a good tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to secure the ball back for his team on the defensive end of the field. He usually puts his foot through the ball when needed and can create some decent chances for his teammates from the right flank.

Currently, the Spanish whizkid is learning his football at the senior level. Hence, he will be a decent option for the Reds to consider in the long run. However, the Real Valladolid right-back is still quite raw and would need time to settle into life in Premier League football.

At 18, Fresneda has got the ceiling to become a real star in European football as long as he continues to improve his all-around game with each year. We can expect Fresneda to add more competition for Trent Alexander-Arnold and Calvin Ramsay for a regular starting spot at the Merseyside club in the coming seasons.

Furthermore, Jurgen Klopp could be the perfect man to oversee the youngster’s development and get the best out of him at Anfield over the next few years. There is no denying that Fresneda is a prospect to watch out for in the future.
