Liverpool fans have responded to our Darwin Nunez poll and it sounds like they’re on the same page as new head coach Arne Slot.
We asked Liverpool fans for their thoughts on Darwin Nunez this summer after a strange season for the Uruguayan. Nunez's numbers were fantastic, and he had a tremendous campaign on paper.
But he was also at the centre of the struggles at Liverpool. His finishing was woeful at times, while his form fell off a cliff towards the end of the season as the Reds struggled for consistency.

It meant his future was in question heading into the summer. Or at least, we thought it might be. Instead, there's next to no talk about him leaving or even being replaced - Liverpool have been linked with players in just about every position but striker.
So what do the fans actually think? We asked for their thoughts on what to do with Nunez: Keep and persist, keep but sign a striker ahead of him, or sell and move on.
Well, fans weren't too split here. Over 3.5k responded to our poll, with just shy of 70% backing Nunez for next season.
So that's 69.7% backing him, 19.7% wanting a new striker, and barely 10% opting to sell.
And it seems Arne Slot agrees with the consensus here. The new head coach talked about Nunez this week and feels he could be a really good fit for him.
“I assume he will fit really well into this [playing style] because I like him,” he said, per the Telegraph. “I’ve told him already. He is one of the players I have spoken to.
“He might have had some struggles with finishing opportunities, but he came a lot of times into those positions,” adds the boss. “It’s clear for him which position he is going to play. It’s clear for me as well and me telling him made it clear for him.
“I just told him that, from what I saw, he played multiple positions and I told him what positions – or position – I see him playing.”
There can be little doubt that Nunez is going to lead the line for Liverpool next season. And if he can recapture his Uruguay form, then the Reds are in for a treat.
