Liverpool getting closer to signing Giorgi Mamardashvili – Valencia star would stay at the club on loan for a season | OneFootball

Reports that Liverpool are set to secure their first signing of the summer are rapidly gaining pace, with Georgian shot-stopper Georgi Mamardashvili being the man in question.

As per Fabrizio Romano, the Valencia goalkeeper is getting close to securing a move to the Premier League, but would initially remain at Valencia on loan for a season before making his move.

At 23 years of age, he still has plenty to learn and will likely benefit from having his move to the Premier League deferred by a year.

The Anfield club are likely eyeing Mamardashvili as an eventual replacement for Alisson Becker, when the Brazilian’s time as Liverpool’s ‘number 1’ comes to an end.

The move would be for a package including add-ons amounting to around €30 million, and would take place in June 2025.

The Georgian has played 100 games across four seasons in his career at Valencia so far since he moved to the club from his native Georgia in 2021.

Whilst Fabrizio Romano hasn’t yet given the transfer his ‘here we go’ treatment, it would seem that the move will be completed in only a matter of days.
