Liverpool injuries: Every player out for semi-final clash with Tottenham

Liverpool are searching for a second victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the space of just a few weeks when they visit north London on Wednesday in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final.

The Reds were emphatically triumphant on their last visit, beating an injury-stricken and misfiring Spurs side 6-3 in the Premier League. A three-goal cushion come the end of Wednesday's encounter would more or less secure Liverpool's spot at Wembley.

Spurs have been downed by fitness issues in recent months and Liverpool will be keen to take full advantage of their ailments midweek. Arne Slot has almost an entirely healthy squad following the weekend draw with Manchester United, even if he could rotate his team in the capital.

Here are the Liverpool players missing from the clash with Tottenham.

Joe Gomez

Ibrahima Konate's return from injury was celebrated at the weekend, with the French defender making his comeback against Man Utd after five weeks in the treatment room. However, he has swapped places with Joe Gomez, who now finds himself on the sidelines.

The versatile Gomez had replaced Konate in the starting lineup during his absence but sustained a hamstring injury in the 5-0 win over West Ham United in Liverpool's final game of 2024. Slot has confirmed he will be missing for "a few weeks", meaning he's unlikely to return until the end of January.

Dominik Szoboszlai

There are no injury issues for Dominik Szoboszlai, who scored and produced an excellent performance in last month's win over Spurs, but the Hungarian is currently battling illness. He missed the weekend draw with Man Utd as a result and his ingenuity was sorely missed.

Slot has not ruled Szoboszlai out of contention for Wednesday's fixture but has issued caution over a potential return for the Tottenham clash.

"Yesterday [Monday] he wasn't in [training] yet. If he's in today, I would doubt if he's available to start the game. But hopefully he's in today. Yesterday he wasn't," revealed Slot.
