Liverpool have emerged as surprise suitors for Beşiktaş midfielder Dorukhan Toköz.
That’s according to Turkish outlet Fotomaç, who report that the European champions have been watching Toköz closely and are weighing up a summer bid.
The 23-year-old only moved from Eskişehirspor to Beşiktaş last summer in a deal €150,000 but his recent performance in Turkey’s 2-0 Euro 2020 qualifying victory over France is said to have made a number of top clubs sit up and take notice.
Newcastle United and Genoa are both understood to have expressed an interest, while Serie A side Udinese have reportedly already had an €8m bid rejected by Beşiktaş.
But Fotomaç believe an offer of just over €10m could be enough to convince the Süper Lig side to part with the deep-lying playmaker.
Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp is thought to be keen to add some depth to his squad, as his side looks to defend their Champions League crown and challenge for the Premier League title next season.
And Toköz would be an inexpensive acquisition who could well blossom into a very special player in the future.
