Trent Alexander-Arnold will reportedly miss both of Liverpool's cup clashes this week after scans revealed a slight thigh injury.
Alexander-Arnold suffered the knock in the Reds' win over Bournemouth on Saturday and initial fears suggested that the England international could miss a few crucial weeks.
That though, is not the case according to The Times, who say that the Real Madrid-linked man will miss 'days not weeks' after having a scan on Monday.
Arne Slot however will not risk aggravating things further, meaning Alexander-Arnold will almost certainly be sidelined for the EFL Cup semi-final second leg against Tottenham and the weekend's FA Cup game with Plymouth.
That means Trent could be ready for next week's rescheduled Merseyside derby and then Premier League matches agains Wolves and Manchester City.
