Liverpool beat Southampton at the weekend. However, the Saints proved yet again that they are capable of competing with the big teams.

Southampton went into the break level with Liverpool. Shortly after the interval, the home side even took the lead. However, costly mistakes from Alex McCarthy meant that Southampton were exposed and ultimately, they conceded twice to Mohamed Salah.

Despite the unfortunate result and one which is hard to take for rock-bottom Southampton, there was one young Saint who stood out above the rest.

It is not the first time this young superstar has impressed so far this season. So much so, a former Liverpool player has issued a warning to Southampton, persuading them to keep ahold of him.

Speaking on Match of the Day 2, former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy was full of praise for Tyler Dibling. In fact, he even called the youngster a "superstar" and urged Southampton to keep ahold of him.

Of course, there is rarely any confidence that Southampton can keep their best players. This attitude is based on the past, whereby the Saints have established a legacy for themselves, as a "selling club" and one that other Premier League sides source their talent.

However, as everyone's favourite failed Man United manager said, eras must come to an end. Hopefully, Southampton can now provide the appeal which enables them to keep ahold of their best players - Without a doubt, securing safety in the Premier League this season will help with that.

Tyler Dibling is one of the best young players in the Premier League. Ageing at just 18 years old, he is one of the most exciting players at Southampton.
